Seniors Event June 1 2021

On Tuesday June 1st the residents of Renna House here in West Orange were treated to an amazing outdoor concert and sing-a-long event organized by Julia Ginocchio who chairs our Senior Matters Committee, in collaboration with Laura Van-Dyke, WO Senior Services Coordinator. Local Broadway stars Catherine Brunell (Mary Poppins, Mean Girls, Les Miserables) and James Moye (Dear Evan Hanson, Tootsie, Ragtime) sang a selection of well-known Broadway classics and hits from Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel. As a special treat, Catherine's 4th Grade daughter Beatrice also delighted the crowd with her rendition of Tony Bennett’s “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.” The concert was uplifting and joyful with residents singing, clapping and enjoying the sunshine and each other. A huge thanks to Catherine and James (and Beatrice) for sharing their talent with us and kudos to Julia and Laura for a beautifully organized event! Now let's try and talk some other local stars into performing at more of our senior homes here in West Orange! This could really take off!
